CHARITABLE COMMITMENT
Charitable commitment reflects how much of a charity’s total expenses go directly to its charitable purpose, also known as program support or program expenses, rather than management, certain overhead expenses, and fundraising.
Charity watchdogs such as the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance say charitable commitment should generally be no lower than 65%. CharityWatch considers a charity highly efficient when program spending is 75% or higher.

FUNDRAISING EFFICIENCY
Fundraising efficiency reflects the percentage of donations that remains after the costs of raising those funds are deducted.
Across charities, fundraising efficiency can vary widely depending on the type of organization, donor mix, and fundraising methods used. Organizations receiving fewer but larger donations may appear highly efficient, while charities relying heavily on direct mail or telephone solicitation often face higher fundraising costs. BBB considers 65% to be the lower end of acceptable efficiency, while Forbes has drawn the line at 70%.

OUR GOAL
